There is no pre-set spending limit on this card. This means that I could purchase a car without it being declined. It's the closest thing to the American Express Centurion Card (Black Card) that celebrities brag about. It has many of the same benefits and I even get access to the Centurion Lounge. The card has a fee of $450 per year and comes with 24/7 concierge. Basically, I could call Amex at 3 AM and ask for someone to plan a party for me. I also get access to invitation only events; such as fashion shows. When I was 18 years old, I was sent on a trip to the gas station with my God brother. He pulled out his fathers Platinum Card and explained what it was to me. His father (My God father) was an Executive Vice President for a very successful firm at the time. He is easily the most successful businessman that I know. I made a promise to myself that I would work my ass off until I could have a Platinum Card just like his. Now, I have one. I have been working to have excellent credit since I was 18 years old. I also just got promoted at work! Therefore, I felt like the time was now. It's somewhat a status symbol. I hate to admit it, but I like to see the look on a person's face when a young black male pulls out an Amex Platinum Card. Anyway, the next goal is a Centurion Card.
