The most memorable year of my life was 1995. The economy was really good and my parents were extremely successful adults. At the time, Deion Sanders was probably my biggest influence (other than my mom and dad). He was the first African American (other than my parents) that truly made me believe I could become a millionaire and be successful. He was very flashy and outspoken, but he backed it up with his hard work. I played sports growing up and wore the number 21 for over 12 years due to my respect for him as a person. Therefore, my all time fav sneaker is the Nike Diamond Turf 2. My second favorite shoe is the Air Jordan 11. This was my first pair & Jordan was the first athlete that made me want to go to college and get an education. He made me want to be an all around successful person. The third spot goes to the Nike Air Max CB 94. I actually learned how to tie my shoes in these and I can remember playing basketball on the monkey bars in these shoes (Yes, you can play basketball on monkey bars!). The fourth spot goes to the Nike Air Max Penny 1. This was the first pair of shoes that I picked out myself. I remember going into Footlocker and being fascinated by the Nike swoosh bubble. The pair I had was actually black and green. Lastly, the fifth spot is a tie. Jerry Stackhouse and Grant Hill were the only athletes that made me want to wear shoes other than Nike. Many people laugh at Fila's now, but everybody had a pair in the mid 90's. I begged my dad for a pair after seeing an older kid at my school wearing them! I was fortunate enough to have all of these shoes as a child. I'm also extremely blessed to be able to buy all of these shoes again 21 years later as an adult. I know that a lot of people look up to me as a person and admire the way that I dress. I have been meaning to post this for a very long time because I want people to understand why I wear the things that I do. The things that I wear mean a lot to me and that is what makes my style unique. I want people out there to know that they can just be themselves and that others will admire it. I put myself in a position to buy all of the things that I once loved as a child. Imagine if we lived in a world where everyone did the same. Imagine all of the cool people/things we would witness on a daily basis.
